Hellohh 109'10! :D TGIF, it's the weekends all over again and soon we'll be facing our Biology PPA and Math GA. :D don't worry, it'll be done in a whilst. ;) just try your best. I figured that in RGS, the exams and assessments are never ending like they come one after another, so it isn't like after one series we get to relax for a period of time like before or in other schools but more like no rest at all. So cherish the weekends. :D and I borrowed this book full of exciting things you can do to make yourself happier whaha. :b although I still strongly recommend listening to justinbieber and visiting mine and Isabel's tumblr! ;) ...but I'll constantly post inspirational and motivational stuff for yall anyway. :b
So here's today's:
1. First let's find out if you're depressed! D:
- You're depressed if...
a. you often feel sad and anxious
b. you feel worthless and/or guilty.
c. you're easily irritated.
d. your appetite has changed drastically.
e. you don't enjoy things you used to like to do.
f. you have little or no energy.
g. you sleep too little or too much.
h. you have trouble concentrating/ making decisions.
i. you have violent outbursts/ trouble with self control.
j. some people think you're loud and obnoxious.
k. you skip school or have dropped school activities.
l. you often have headaches or other aches.
m. you feel hopeless about the future.
n. you think about death, suicide or harming yourself.
Okay, so I don't think anyone in our class is THAT depressed but here are some things that works whether or not you're depressed anyway. :D
2. Survival Tip 1#
-take a break "rest is not a matter of doing absolutely nothing. rest is repair."!
here are some ways to relax:
a. take a nap
b. read for pleasure
c. call a friendd
d. breathe deeply and slowly
e. listen to your favorite relaxing music (no sad songs, preferrably Justinbieber)
f. daydream
g. doodle
h. tell yourself positive things like "I can feel better"
3. Survival Tip 2#
- have some fun "laughter is the shortest distance between two people."!
a. you can go be social - attend a sporting event @ school or in your community, have a party and invite close friends and people you'd like to know better, get a football game going with your neighbours
b. other ways to feel good - buy yourself a present, write down five positive things about yourself (you can ask a family member to help you come up with some), buy a joke book and memorise a joke to share (hahaha i do that alot), read the Sunday comics and cut out cartoons that make you laugh
4. DID YOU KNOW?
- when a depressed teen says "I want to die," all of u need to hear "I'm feeling so alone (helpless, hopeless, worthless" right now that it's unbearable. I can't think of any way to escape these painful things than die." Usually suicidal people are so focused on emotional pain that they can't think of anything good about themselves or their lives. They want to live but they need help coping and considering ways to solve their problems.
- a person who threatens suicide feels desperate and is asking for help. rarely does anyone plan suicide without giving clues of some kind which are very subtle.
5. Final Survival Tip
- feed your spirit "look at yourself every once in a while and point out all the things about yourself that you like. self-esteem- that's really the most important thing."
- you need to feel proud of who you are and what you're trying to do, you need to want yourself to win.
